…is the name of luxury fashion house Yves Saint Laurents most recent perfume.
Opium, the oriental, controversial, best selling perfume since 1977, is the big sister of the new Belle d’Opium. Little sis also carries the sensual mix of sandalwood and patchouli basenotes, but her modern heart of incense, and the fresh peach, mandarin and white pepper topping the pyramid of notes, make the new fragrance a lot lighter than its forerunner. It appeals to the younger (and blonder - the heavier scents are often worn by brunettes!) crowd who want a classic perfume but find the original too heavy. Opium-addict's who have been longing for a similar, but more summery smell, can finally stop their search, oh, and evidently, so can collectors of pretty perfume bottles too.
The up-and-coming, and drop dead gorgeous French actress Melanie Thierry (have you seen her in “The Princess of Montpensier”?) is the face of Belle D'Opium. Here's the TV AD.
YSL Belle d'Opium EdP is available in 30 ml and 50 ml (90 ml not available in Norway). It also comes in a 100 ml Body Lotion.
“I am one of those women one only escapes by leaving or by loving.”
